Mythology

As I've read about and skimmed through the mythologies of various peoples, I've picked up on a few shared elements and different versions of the same stories. Here, I will compose a series of posts that list these similarities and parallels. I think that these point to a common origin, and perhaps to truths that have been changed and forgotten as people moved apart and away from the source of truth. Just as language has branched out and changed with our movements and the passage of time, so have our stories about the origins of the world and ourselves, our purpose, and our future.

Now that we are again connected to most of the world through advanced transportation and communication technologies, we can hear many the different stories and find common threads that tie us together, and we are also better able to share truth that we have found again. There are still barriers that must be broken through: misinformed hatred, oppressive regimes that restrict communication and understanding, lack of interest in and concern toward other individuals, etc. Let's hope that there will come a time when we will be free to share, listen to, and learn from anyone. We can start moving in that direction now by creating friendships and building trust within our own spheres of influence.
